About this work
This engraved portrait shows a bearded man in a dark doublet with a deep white ruffled collar and a light cloak draped over one shoulder, his hands held together at the waist. The inscription below names Artus Wolfart as a painter of human figures in Antwerp, and the plate is credited to Anthony van Dyck as the painter and Cornelis Galle as the engraver, dated 1634.
