About this work

A pencil sketchbook page showing studies of dogs in several poses, including a head in profile at lower left, a reclining body at upper right, and a lower head with floppy ears. The loose, quick linework records animal forms in the manner of a working sketch. The page is from a carnet de croquis attributed to Georges Clairin.
