About this work
This etching by Émile Bernard, dated 1935, shows a tall elephant with curved tusks at left, a wolf-like creature at upper right, and a crouching winged dragon with a long snout and open jaws in the foreground. The brown ink lines outline fantastical, almost hybrid forms set against a plain tonal background. The print is signed in pencil in the lower margin and is titled N° 7 - « Monde terrible et plein d'êtres prodigieux. », 4414.07.
