This etching by Alfred Delauney, dated 1869, depicts an arcaded courtyard of the Marché aux veaux, shown partly demolished with stone rubble, fallen timbers and debris scattered across the ground. Rows of stone columns and arches frame the view, with a timber-framed structure on the right and a multi-storey townhouse with dormers rising behind the roofline. The title notes that the market was demolished in 1868.
