About this work
This etching shows the Tour de l'Horloge beside the Palais de Justice in Paris, with its ornate clock face set within an arched niche and a pointed spire above. A horseback rider crosses the open paving while figures and flower stalls line the riverside edge, and a bridge over the Seine appears at the right.
