About this work
This 1867 etching by Alfred Delauney depicts the Rue de la Mortellerie, now part of the Hôtel de Ville area, as a narrow street flanked by tall stone buildings. A cylindrical turret projects from the right-hand facade, and workers on scaffolding and a ladder are visible beside it while pedestrians walk along the cobbled roadway.
