About this work

A watercolor drawing shows the Tour Saint Jean de Latran, a round-topped stone tower rising above a city street, dated 1844 and attributed to Auguste-Sébastien Bénard. Beside the tower stand a plastered multi-storey house, a wooden shed with a sloped roof, and a gothic arched doorway, while a worker with a broom and a woman in a doorway appear at street level.
