About this work
A hand-coloured lithograph by Thomas Shotter Boys, dated 1839, shows the exterior of the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris. Tall pointed windows, flying buttresses and a slender spire rise above piles of dressed stone, wooden scaffolding and a few figures, including a donkey and a man in a red cloak.
