About this work
A watercolor view of a crowded Parisian boulevard during an official procession, with a horse-drawn carriage and mounted cavalry escort moving past dense crowds. A temporary gilded onion-domed arch bearing a Cyrillic inscription and decorated with French and Russian flags spans the street, while spectators fill the balconies of the surrounding buildings. The work is attributed to Theodor Josef Hubert Hoffbauer and dated 1893.
