About this work
A watercolor and pencil drawing shows a stone archway with a carved crest, framing a view of a low stone wall, a leafless tree, and white buildings with red roofs beyond. Ivy climbs the left pillar, and faded lettering is painted on the stonework. The work is dated 1871 and attributed to Jean-Baptiste Arnaud-Durbec.
