About this work
A colour lithograph showing a winding dirt road curving along a grassy hillside beside a broad pale river, with a lone figure walking on the path. Bare trees stand at the left edge, a distant town with church spires lies across the water, and a warm orange and yellow sky is rendered in loose sketched strokes. This print by Maxime Maufra, titled La route de Gaud, was published in L'Estampe originale in 1893.
