About this work
This engraved print shows a broad view of the princely abbey of Muri, with its church towers, long conventual buildings and enclosing walls set in a valley below rolling wooded hills. A large tree stands at the right edge, and a small horseman rides along the road in the foreground. The lower center bears a coat of arms and bilingual German and French captions, with the artist's signature Wolf del. 1765 noted beneath the title.
