About this work
A charcoal drawing on a tan sheet shows a nude female figure standing with one arm raised to her head and her body turned slightly away. Dense dark strokes model the torso, hips and legs against a shadowed ground. The work is signed Permeke and dated 1921, with a handwritten dedication to Henri Vandeputte.
