About this work
An engraved print by Gustave Doré titled Adventure with the Windmills, dated 1863, shows a armored knight on a rearing horse charging toward a row of windmills. A squire on foot raises an arm in the lower right beside a saddled horse, while the windmills' sails and a grassy, sloping landscape fill the scene.
