About this work

Two figures stand on a dirt path within a field of cotton plants, the woman balancing a large woven basket of cotton on her head while smoking a pipe and the man leaning on a cane beside a sack of picked cotton. A small cabin and bare trees sit on the horizon under a cloudy sky.
