About this work
An oil painting of a shallow woodland stream bordered by clusters of yellow marsh marigolds and green leaves. Slender trees rise from the banks while reflections of pale sky shimmer on the water, all rendered in loose, feathery brushwork. Gerhard Munthe made this work in 1892.
