About this work
Two mounted Plains warriors in feathered headdresses ride across a dry, grassy landscape, one firing a rifle while the other holds a rifle across his horse. Additional riders appear in the distance beneath a sky of scattered clouds, with snowcapped peaks on the horizon. The work is titled The War Party and is attributed to Edgar Samuel Paxson.
