About this work

A pen and ink drawing shows a young woman seated in profile turned toward the left, her hair drawn back into a bun and her hands folded over the back of a wooden chair. She wears a dark dress with a white lace-edged collar, and cross-hatched shading models the fabric and background. The handwritten inscription at the lower left reads Bruun and the date 1846 appears at the lower right on the sheet.
