A folding stool, a bag and a few sketching tools lie on the ground at his side. The handwritten inscription reads C.L. Grez, April 1884, and a line in Swedish, Vänskapsgåfva till Madeleine, appears in the lower right. Jaensson vid staffliet by Carl Larsson, 1884.
