About this work

A pen and ink drawing on ochre-toned paper shows a bearded, long-haired nude male figure kneeling on rocky ground beside a sparse tree branch. The figure reaches upward with one arm toward the branch while the other arm wraps across the body, and stippled shading suggests foliage and terrain. The work is attributed to Ernst Josephson and is titled Strömkarlen.
