About this work

A pen and wash drawing shows a grey horse standing in an open landscape, its head lowered and its hindquarters turned toward the viewer as it urinates onto the ground. The sketch has a faint horizon with small distant figures and a few tufts of vegetation in the foreground, and the monogram P.E.W. and the date 1949 appear in the lower right corner.
