About this work

This sepia-toned bookplate shows a nude woman with curled hair perched on the tail of a large peacock whose head rises above a classical pedestal crowned with a floral garland. Trailing vines and an oval cartouche inscribed "EX LIBRIS GERHARD WUNDERLICH" complete the composition.
