About this work
This charcoal drawing on textured paper shows a kneeling male nude seen from behind, with both arms raised and bent behind the head and the hands gripping a horizontal ledge at the bottom edge. Strong tonal shading models the shoulders, back, and thighs, while the head is rendered as a dark mass.
