About this work
This engraving shows the Coronation of the Virgin, with two bearded, haloed figures seated on clouds reaching to place a crown on the kneeling Virgin at center. A dove representing the Holy Spirit radiates light above, and small cherubs rest among the clouds below. The print is rendered in monochrome greenish-gray tones with fine hatched lines, and it is attributed to Andrea Scacciati after a design by Moroni.
