About this work
An engraved print titled The Morning, after Joseph Vernet, shows fishermen working on a riverbank in the foreground while a sailboat and stone bridge recede across the water. A church and a ruined stone mill with a water wheel frame the scene under a cloudy sky. The inscription below the image is a dedication to Pierre Charles de Villette, and the print is engraved by Aliamet.
