This engraved landscape shows a rugged rocky cliff with a waterfall cascading past a classical temple and buildings on the ledge above. In the foreground, women wash laundry at the water's edge while a standing couple and a seated figure rest on the rocks, and a small boat moves across the river. The print reproduces the painting "The Young Laundresses" by Joseph Vernet, with the engraving credited to R. Dadeau and dated 1788 in the plate inscription.
