About this work
This black and white engraving shows a mountainous landscape with a multi-arched stone bridge above a cascading waterfall, a hilltop town on the rocks, and figures resting and walking in the foreground with a dog. The inscription identifies the work as View of the Apennines, after a painting by Joseph Vernet, engraved by J. Ouvrier, with a dedication to Monsieur Blondel.
