About this work
An engraved landscape showing two figures on a rocky ledge beside a still pool, one standing with a long pole and the other crouched near the water. Gnarled, partly bare trees lean over the rocks while a steep cliff rises on the left under a cloudy sky. The print carries the title Seconde Vue du Mont Cenia, attributed to Joseph Vernet and dated 1750.
