About this work

A lush garden scene shows a female figure seated beside a cornucopia overflowing with flowers and fruit, surrounded by heaps of melons, apples, grapes and vegetables. Three playful nude putti and a small white dog populate the foreground, while peacocks, a turkey, a rabbit and other birds and animals appear among the foliage and in the distant meadow. The work is attributed to Jan Brueghel the Younger and dated 1625.
