About this work
This watercolor shows the Place de la Concorde with a large dark fountain at center, a tall obelisk at right, and several artillery cannons and a small covered carriage on the rain-dampened square. The muted lavender and grey palette suggests a misty day, and the work is attributed to Laure Brouardel and dated 1914.
