About this work

This engraved architectural elevation shows the facade of St. Stephen's Chapel with two turrets topped by finials, a gabled roofline, tall pointed-arch windows at the base, and a row of arched windows above. The print is credited to John Thomas Smith and dated 1806, and its inscription describes it as a view of the chapel as it appeared before the 1806 alterations, after Mr. Sandby's view taken about 1755.
