About this work
This etching shows a thatched cottage with a weathered wooden door and a rough fence set into a grassy bank, surrounded by bushes and trees. Two wooden barrels lie in the foreground beside a dirt path. The print was drawn and etched by John Thomas Smith and dated 1797.
