About this work

This hand-coloured engraving shows a long, pale stucco building facade with rows of arched windows, a Greek key frieze, and a colonnaded ground floor along a busy street. Horse-drawn carriages and well-dressed pedestrians in early nineteenth-century fashion fill the foreground. The print, titled Buildings on the East Side of Regent's Street, was drawn by Thomas H. Shepherd, engraved by Robert Acon, and published in 1828.
