This watercolour and pencil drawing shows a broad rural view with two pink brick cottages beside a dirt road, partly hidden among dense trees and bordered by a white picket fence. Small figures, a horse and cart, and a distant hazy horizon extend the scene into the distance. Richard Dadd made this landscape, titled Landscape with Cottages, Broadmoor, in 1873.
