About this work

A pen and brown ink drawing with watercolor wash shows sailors hauling on ropes at the base of a long spar, or boom, that extends across the composition. Rigging lines loop around the boom and dangle toward a pulley block on the deck, while two figures in blue and red clothing work at the left edge. The work is attributed to Edward Duncan and is catalogued as a print on Wikimedia Commons.
