About this work
A watercolor print shows a muscular, barefoot messenger in a rust-colored tunic gesturing urgently toward two seated figures beneath a tree, one a bearded elder with clasped hands raised in prayer and the other a woman with arms raised in anguish. Grazing sheep and a distant running figure near a walled city complete the scene under a dark, cloudy sky.
