A graphite and chalk sketch in profile shows the head and neck of a greyhound, with its long muzzle, folded ear and a collar drawn around the neck. The dog's head is shaded with soft tonal strokes against the pale paper, and the outline is loosely sketched. The work is titled Head Portrait of Grayhound, attributed to Sawrey Gilpin, and dated 1760.
