About this work

A graphite drawing shows a man in a cap guiding a team of horses pulling a wagon with a large wheel, loaded beside a rough timber log. Dark, hatched shading fills the background foliage, and a second figure with horses stands in the upper left. The sheet carries faint grid lines and numbering, consistent with a preparatory study by Robert Bevan, dated 1917.
