About this work
A wide pen and wash drawing shows a broad open heath with horses and riders racing across the middle ground while large crowds of onlookers line the ridges and the foreground. Tents, carriages and a distant church spire are visible along the horizon. The work is attributed to Jan Wyck and dated 1671.
