About this work
A mezzotint portrait shows a man with a long curled powdered wig, wearing an ermine-trimmed robe fastened with a ribboned collar and a lace cravat, set within an oval composition. A Latin inscription with the date 1715 is engraved along the lower margin, and the sheet is annotated as after a painting by Godfrey Kneller.
