About this work
A woman in a pink blouse and dark skirt watches a man kneeling at the water's edge as he lifts a wicker trap from a stream. Stone farm buildings with slate roofs stand across a grassy meadow, and the still water reflects the surrounding bank and willows. The work is signed and dated 1891 by Jules-Alexis Muenier.
