About this work
This engraved view shows the interior of a rock-cut cave, with a large seated figure in a recessed niche on the left and carved relief figures framing a doorway on the right. Two figures sit near the lower right corner, and two more stand near the niche at the left, giving a sense of scale. The composition is dominated by deep shadow and the textured stone surfaces.
