A colourful German emergency banknote from 1922 shows the Pied Piper of Hamelin leading a large yellow rat past half-timbered houses, while a child raises its arms in the street. A dark rat and a red figure appear in the border, and the reverse carries decorative floral and bird motifs with handwritten notes.
