A rural farmyard unfolds behind them with a rooster, ducks in a pond, a cart, cattle, and a figure driving animals along a path. The printed caption beneath the image quotes a line of dialogue and reads Act II Scene I, with the publisher's imprint of Watt and Baillie, Leith, dated 1 June 1808, attributed to David Allan.
