A hand-colored print from Samuel Howitt's hunting series, published in 1794, shows a pack of hounds chasing and surrounding a fox across a wooded slope. Two riders on horseback watch from the upper ground among bare, gnarled trees, and the printed verse below the image is part of the plate's caption.
