About this work
A pencil drawing shows two young boys in period dress beside a dog, with a standing boy holding a long staff or bow on the right and a seated boy leaning forward on the left. Faint sketched foliage fills the background, and handwritten inscriptions across the top and bottom label the work as a design for a picture naming Marcellus and John Laroon.
