About this work

This pen and brown ink drawing with wash shows a frieze-like group of figures in a classical style. Two armored warriors stand at the center and left, one holding a spear, while a bare-chested man in a turban presents a sword and a seated figure looks upward at the right. Helmets, a shield, a bow and quiver, and palm fronds are arranged along the base and sides.
