About this work

A loose pencil sketch shows several figures in period dress gathered at a railing, with a man in a tall hat at left and a woman in a bonnet-style hat at right. Dogs sit and stand around the group on the ground line, and the lightly drawn horizon and rail suggest an outdoor waterfront setting.
