A kneeling woman in a flowing white gown plants a young laurel branch into the ground, its base supported by a sword with a crossguard, while small crosses stand at the left against a red sunburst background. A tricolour cockade is pinned to her hair, and handwritten text and printed lettering promote the 1920 National Loan in France, issued through the Comptoir National d'Escompte de Paris. The work is an anonymous 20th-century poster dated 1920.
