About this work
A lithographic poster from 1911 shows a standing woman in a wide-brimmed hat and blue fur-trimmed cape, her arms and legs covered in tattoos, with a red bodice and a jeweled corset. She stands on a stone staircase beside flower urns, and German text promotes her as the only existing original tattooed lady of her time, called the living picture gallery. The poster is anonymous and dates from 1911.
